Zusammenfassung:	The present invention provides a method for manufacturing a surface-modified member comprising: a step for forming a sprayed coating on a substrate; a step for irradiating the surface of the sprayed coating with a high-energy beam, melting some of the substrate and all of the sprayed coating in the thickness direction, and solidifying the resulting article so that a densified modified layer is formed; a step for forming a sprayed coating on the modified layer formed immediately therebefore; and a step for irradiating the surface of the sprayed coating with a high-energy beam, melting all of the sprayed coating in the thickness direction and some of the modified layer formed immediately therebefore, and solidifying the resulting article so that a densified modified layer is formed.
