Zusammenfassung:	An object of this invention is to provide a 6-valent-chrome-free conversion treating technique showing a stable and excellent etching resistance, for aluminum or an aluminum alloy, especially an aluminum die casting material, with various surface states. Provided is an aqueous conversion treating agent for surface treatment of aluminum or aluminum alloy, which is an agent comprising: a chitosans (A), a component (B) containing at least one selected from the group consisting of a water-soluble 3-valent chrome compound, a water-soluble titanium compound and a water-soluble zirconium compound, and nitrite (C), and which comprises a soluble fluorene component (D).
