Zusammenfassung:	Disclosed is a method for providing over-temperature protection of a target device in an information processing system. The information processing system includes a power supply device, and the power supply device includes a main power and a standby power. The information processing system further include a switch device, electrically coupled between the target device and the power supply device. The method includes: determining whether a power status of the information processing system is set to turn on the main power; in response to the power status being set to not turn on the main power, determining whether the target device is set to operate; in response to the target device being set to operate, turning on the switch device. An apparatus for providing over-temperature protection and an information processing system thereof are also disclosed.
