Zusammenfassung:	A discharging lamp and a light illuminating apparatus are provided. The light illuminating apparatus includes a discharging pipe 4; a pair of electrodes 51, 52 disposed at the discharging pipe 4; a pair of connecting terminals 61, 62 disposed at two end portions 4m, 4n of the axis direction of the discharging pipe 4 and extending along one direction different from the axis direction; and a pair of power supplying sockets 31, 32 disposed at an apparatus main body side and supplying power from the pair of connecting terminals 61, 62 to the electrodes 51, 52 via insertion into the pair of connecting terminals 61, 62; and the pair of connecting terminals 61, 62 are configured not to be at the outer side opposite to the side of the aforementioned one direction at two end portions of the axis direction of the discharging pipe 4.
