Zusammenfassung:	An expansion anchor (1) comprises an anchor bolt (2) having a longitudinal axis (10) and provided with an expanding element (3) at its first end portion (6); preferably at least one working means (20) on the anchor bolt (2) for bearing the load; and an expansion sleeve (4) surrounding the anchor bolt (2). The present invention aims to prevent an axial displacement of the expansion sleeve (4), particularly when the drill hole diameter is in the lower tolerance range or in a hollow status. This object is achieved by providing an expansion anchor (1) comprising at least one eccentric geometric structure so as to allow the anchor bolt (2) to make a rotary movement, in particular, the longitudinal axis (10) is used as a rotation axis (9), thereby expanding the expansion sleeve (4).
