Zusammenfassung: | Component made of platinum or a Pt alloy, whose external surface, which, in use, contacts an oxidising atmosphere is covered by an open-pore ceramic or quartz layer, whose pores contain as an infiltrating component a material that melts at the operating temperature, and which are protected from evaporation losses upon their use in an oxidising atmosphere at temperatures > 1,200 DEG C. A method for reducing the evaporation rate of platinum and Pt alloys in an oxidising atmos-phere comprises the steps of A. applying an open-pore quartz or ceramic layer, B. infiltrating into said layer a material that melts at lower temperature than the ceramic ma-terial such that the pore spaces of the open-pore ceramic layer are partly or completely filled by the infiltrating component; C. use at temperatures > 1,200 DEG C. |
