Dielectric barrier discharge lamp device

A dielectric barrier discharge lamp device 10 is provided, which includes a lamp house 11, a mesh electrode 30, a discharge vessel 32, an electrode and vessel holding member 40 and a power device. The lamp house 11 has a light-irradiating aperture 12. The mesh electrode 30 is disposed in the light-irradiating aperture 12 of the lamp house 11, and the mesh electrode 30 includes a porous electrical conductor. The discharge vessel 32 is formed by enclosing a discharge gas into a transparent vessel. The discharge vessel 32 is clipped between the mesh electrode 30 and the electrode and vessel holding member 40 which is separated from the discharge vessel 32. The power device applies a voltage for discharge between the mesh electrode 30 and the electrode and vessel holding member 40. The discharge vessel 32 is supported by the mesh electrode 30.
