The invention relates to an arc type optical disk destroying device. The primary goal is to destroy sealing resin and metal layers of an optical disk with electrical arcs so as to damage the metal layers of the optic disk, making data of the optic disk destroyed and no longer recoverable thereby achieving the purpose of totally destroying information. The device includes a decomposing box and a power supply unit. The decomposing box includes a sensor switch, a positive electrode, and a negative electrode. The positive electrode and the negative electrode extend to form multiple positive discharging terminals and negative discharging terminals that alternate each other. When an optical disk is deposited in the decomposing box to trigger the sensor switch, the positive electrode and the negative electrode are powered and electrical arcs are generated among the positive discharging terminals and the negative discharging terminals.
