Zusammenfassung:	The present invention provides a color filter having not only high luminance but also excellent visibility when white LEDs are treated as backlight source. The color filter of this invention is characterized by being used for liquid crystal display element provided with color filter having red pixel, green pixel and blue pixel, and backlight source disposed at the rear side of the liquid crystal display element. The red pixel contains at least one pigment selected from the group consisting of (1) C.I. pigment red 242 and (2) C.I. pigment red 177 and C.I. pigment 254. The backlight source is white LEDs.
