Coordinate input device

Provided is a coordinate input device in which the input coordinates of a single point and multiple points can be specified. A plurality of drive electrodes (2) are arranged in the direction of the X axis, and a drive voltage is applied to the drive electrodes. A plurality of sense electrodes (3) are arranged in the direction of the Y axis, and the sense electrodes are endowed with an arbitrary angle so that electrostatic capacitances form. Adjacent sense electrodes (3) are simultaneously selected. The selected sense electrodes (3) are sequentially switched from one end to the other end in the direction of the Y axis. The difference is detected between the output signal of one sense electrode (3) and the output signal having reversed polarity of the other sense electrode (3). The input coordinate is calculated from the difference value obtained.
