Alcohols tolerant Escherichia coli and methods of production thereof

The present invention provides the E. coli mutant strain having enhanced alcohols tolerance. The bacteria are useful for the fermentative production of alcohols. New methods for the production of alcohols tolerant E. coli mutant strain are also provided.
