Method for customizing font

A method for customizing font is disclosed in the present invention. The method is applicable to an embedded system. The method comprises the following steps. Firstly, at least one font bitmap is provided. The file name of the font bitmap is then parsed to obtain the character code corresponding to the font bitmap and then the file data of the font bitmap is read. Secondly, the at least one font bitmap is packed as a font file, and the code of the character and the file data are stored in the index of the font file. When the fond is chosen to be used, the index of the font file is searched according to the code of the character to be shown. While there is a match in the search, the font bitmap corresponding to the code of the character to be shown is obtained from the font file and then displayed.
