Zusammenfassung:A system and method for recording television programmes via the Internet. The system comprising a user authentication module to authenticate a user and ensure that the user is permitted to record the programmes; a programme selection module to allow the user to select at least one programme to record; and a playback module to allow the user to playback previously recorded programmes; wherein the user authentication module authenticates the user according to the residence of the user or whether they have a paid subscription to a subscription based radio and/or television service. The method comprising authenticating a user and ensure that the user is permitted to record programmes; selecting at least one programme to record via a first web page; and playing back previously recorded programmes via a second web page; wherein the user is authenticated according to the residence of the user or whether they have a paid subscription to a subscription based radio and/or television service.
