Image processing method and system for personal computer

The present invention provides an image processing method and system for personal computer. First, an image driving unit receives an image data stream from an image input device and executes a pre-process on the image data stream to obtain a color image data stream. Then, an image process module uses an application interface to inform the image driving unit of sending the color image data stream to it. The image process unit executes a specific image process on the color image data stream to generate a processed image data stream. The image process module uses an application interface to inform the image driving unit and sends the color image data stream to the image driving unit. The image driving unit then executes a post-process. Therefore, the image process module can utilize resources under a user mode to operate complicated image processes.
