Zusammenfassung:A method of purifying an aqueous alkali solution. By the method, a metal impurity contained in an aqueous alkali solution having a relatively high concentration can be rapidly removed in a simple manner. The method for purifying an aqueous alkali solution comprises bringing an aqueous alkali solution containing a metal impurity into contact with at least one material selected among a strongly basic anion exchanger, weakly basic anion exchanger, and chelating material each in a fibrous or bead form and activated carbon which has undergone activation and subsequent contact with nitric acid.
