The metal-ceramic coatings 11 comprise at least one ceramic phase dispersed in a metal matrix and are disposed along the heat exchanger tubes 10 to improve heat transfer and reduce oxidation of the heat exchanger tubes 10. Methods of preparing the metal-ceramic coatings and systems for using the same are provided.
