Zusammenfassung: | In a process for measuring the fuel consumption of an internal combustion engine M, the interrelated values of the weight of the fuel consumed, the time taken to consume the fuel and the number of revolutions of the engine performed during this consumption are measured. After commencement of the measuring process, the weight of the fuel consumed and the time taken to consume it from the start of the measurement are repeatedly measured, either continuously or at predetermined time intervals or weight steps, and these values are compared with predetermined limiting values of the minimum weight of fuel to be measured and with the minimum time of measurement. When both limiting values are reached the measurement is terminated and the result is obtained from the last-measured related set of values of fuel consumed, duration, and the number of engine revolutions. The weight is measured by a balance G which provides one input of a measuring unit m that has further inputs from a revolution counter N, a clock T and a control unit v. The measured values are stored in a store t, computed in an arithmetic unit a, and displayed in a display unit D. |
