Zusammenfassung: | According to the method according to the invention, the material grains are made to flow in a gravitation field with turbulent movement in a preheating zone (1) closed off from the environment. During their movement, the grains are heated indirectly with the aid of a heat-transfer medium flowing in expediently horizontal heating pipes (5), and then the heated material is conveyed into the collecting funnel (4) and carried off from there. The preheating zone (1) filled with the granular solid material is probed and the vapours and gases which are formed during heating are carried off via probes (6, 7) into the atmosphere situated outside the preheating zone (1) from the "dead space" which arises under the heating pipes (5) and under the probes (6, 7) during the downward movement of the granular solid material. The device according to the invention, which serves for implementing the method, has a standing container (2) which binds the preheating zone (1) and from case to case is open at the top, with expediently invariable cross-section, a heat exchanger consisting of heating pipes (5) arranged preferably horizontally in the container (2), a dosing device (3) mounted under the preheating zone (1) on the bottom of the container (2), and a collecting funnel (4) situated under the dosing device (3). Mounted in the preheating zone (1) are probes (6, 7) which at the bottom are at least in part open and/or provided with downwardly directed openings (8) which with the ...
