Zusammenfassung:The invention relates to a double-shell wall, preferably for vessels subjected to temperature and pressure loading, such as oil and gas tanks, as well as containments for nuclear power installations. The aim of the invention is to design the wall of a double-shell vessel wall in such a way that a concentration of bending, normal and constraining stresses in certain regions is excluded. According to the invention, this is achieved by the double-shell wall, formed by shells frictionally connected to each other, having in the central region of the temperature-loaded inner shell horizontal expansion compensators, running annularly around the shell, and vertical expansion compensators being arranged at the transition of the cylindrical wall to the base plate or to the vessel roof. The horizontal expansion compensators are preferably arranged in the joining region of the vessels made from annular segments. The length of the vertical expansion compensators corresponds at most to the distance between neighbouring horizontal expansion compensators. The expansion compensators are arranged in a chamber-forming manner, gas-tightly enclosing the seam of the inner shell.
