Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a universal cage system for small animals of all kinds. The cage system can be easily assembled from its individual components, each cage unit having a standing end element, a rear wall, side walls and a horizontal floor piece. Transverse members, which are suitable for connection to the space-bounding and dividing elements by means of corresponding openings, are sufficient as a load-bearing part without additional mounting components being required. As a result, the cage system can be extended as desired not only towards the side but also upwards. By installing special accessory parts, the cage system can be adapted to the requirements of virtually all small animals.
