Process for preparing concentrates of aucubin and catalpol from leaves of Plantago species

Concentrate of aucubin and catalpol from leaves of Plantago species is prepared by extracting the leaves in hot water, the extract is then separated by filtration, soluble carbohydrates in the extract are removed by culturing in the presence of microorganisms utilizing monosaccharides and disaccharides (preferably with yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae), the cells of microorganisms are removed from the medium after culturing, and aucubin and catalpol are isolated from the separated solution by adsorption on activated carbon.
