Zusammenfassung:	Described is single-jet or multi-jet impeller-type water meter with a device for compensating for errors due to ageing, the device having one or more pipes (3), always having a longitudinal cleft (4), or flow-retarding ribs (5) with annular grooves (15), located radially in a measurement chamber (11) above a wheel (6) or thereunder. When the meter becomes dirty, the increase in rpm this causes is automatically compensated for since the flow cross-section of the pipes (3) is simultaneously decreased, thus leading to increased throttle losses, or the effective cross-section of the flow-retarding ribs (5) is increased. These devices can also be used for the initial adjustment of the meter.
