Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a method and a device (10) for handling piece goods (2) moved one after the other in at least one row (1). Piece goods (2) which directly follow one another in multiple rows (1) without spacing or with minimal spacing are transported in the form of respective closed formations (F). Each piece good (2) is gripped out of the at least one closed formation (F) by means of multiple manipulators (5) in a clamping and/or force-fitting and/or form-fitting manner, spatially separated from the respective closed formation (F), and brought into a respective defined target position (P) and/or alignment relative to the subsequent piece goods (2) by the multiple manipulators (5) in a temporally overlapping manner at least temporarily.
