Zusammenfassung: | The invention refers to a varistor featuring a fast shutdown of source voltage when the heating of the varistor reaches the critical overheating level and consequentially destruction. The varistor with fast thermal protection which includes the flat-shaped varistor body (1), an upper electrode (6), a lower electrode (2), a varistor enclosure (18) and a varistor enclosure cover (3) differs from any state of the art applications by the fact that the thermal disconnector is attached to the varistor body by way of conductive glue, which creates a link reacting extremely fast to any elevated temperature of the varistor body and use of pouring mass with an improved heat transmission compared to the currently applied pouring masses and is non inflammable thus providing a secondary protection against excessive heating, burning and destruction of the varistor. The thermal protection according to the invention enables a faster disconnection in the case of exceeding the critical body temperature of the varistor compared to state of the art solutions providing an excellent link between the varistor body which is warming up and the thermal disconnector. The varistor with fast thermal protection can also switch the signalisation for emergency situation signalling made with the signalisation connector (24) consisting of a signalization connector bearing (4) and plug of the signalization connector (5).
