Zusammenfassung:Controlled-release, solid, pharmaceutical compositions adapted for oral administration comprises: (a) at least one basic drug with a water solubility of less than 1 part per 30 parts water; (b) a water-soluble alginate salt; (c) a complex salt of alginic acid; and (d) an organic carboxylic acid to facilitate dissolution of the basic drug. An Independent claim is also included for a controlled release solid pharmaceutical composition (I) adapted for oral administration of a once-a-day dosage regimen and comprising (in mg): clarithromycin (500), sodium-calcium alginate (75-400) and citric acid (128).
