AbstractMETHOD OF CUTTING WORKPIECE WITH WIRE SAW, AND WIRE SAWThe present invention provides a method of cutting a workpiece efficiently with high accuracy by utilizing tension adjusters to approximate tension in a wire in a wire saw to a predetermined target tension while effectively only tension in a winder-side wire. The method comprises *a forward-driven cutting step of cutting a workpiece 28 while moving a wire W forwird, a first switching step of reversing a driving method of the ard-driven cutting step of cutting the workpiece 28 while moving the wire W backward, and a second switching step of reversingdriving direction of the wire W and returning to the ard-driven culling step, thesteps being repeated in this order. In both switching steps, only tension in awinder-side wire is reduced by tension manipulators 18A and 1813.
