An adjustable casing sub (36, 40) having an outer housing (50), an inner housing (42) insertable into the outer housing (50), and a ratcheting system for coupling the inner housing within the outer housing. An annulus (45) is between a portion of the inner and outer housing (42, 50), the annulus (45) including an inwardly tapered section(67). A metal faced seal (66) is disposed in the annulus (45), wherein the metal faced seal (66) includes a sliding surface (64) and a compressive sealing surface (72). The sliding surface (64) may include a malleable inlay (66) and the compressive sealing surface may include a spring like element (72).
