BLUETOOTH VIDEO/STILL CAMERA ENCODING MODULE USING SERIAL PORT PROFILE

Bluetooth Video/ Still Camera encoding module using Serial Port Profile A Bluetooth camera is designed and built on the Serial Port Profile (SPP) specified under Bluetooth standard protocol. This system is built on an integrated module that packages that bluetooth complexities and the video encoding capability. To allow different user scenario for the final system, both Bluetooth Class 1 and Class 2 are completed for a transmission range of 100 meters and 10 meters.This module directly encodes the imaging data from a CMOS (Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor) or CCD (Charge Coupled Device) data bus and transmit it via Bluetooth to a remote viewing platform which is either a desktop personal computer, a notebook computer, a Personal Digital Assistanr (PDA), or, a Mobile phone.The module uses the Serial Port Profile which is a common protocol available on most Bluetooth platform. This increases the adaptability of using the Bluetooth camera directly on existing Bluetooth devices, by a simple addition of an Application layer.The application layer exist on the viewing platform. An example application platform is completed on a Windows based computer as well as a PDA and on a smartphone.A serial protocol is used for the device to control the bluetooth video/still camera hardware.
