Zusammenfassung:	A crane and a crane assembling method that are capable of integrally and easily connecting a lower jib (25a), a strut (27), and a boom head (24a) to the distal end portion of a collapsed boom body (240) are provided. A crane (1) has a support portion (2S) that is attached to the lower jib (25a) and can support the strut (27). The support portion (2S) supports the strut (27) such that when a connection unit (51) is lifted in a state in which the boom head (24a) is disposed facing the distal end portion of the collapsed boom body (240), and the lower jib (25a) and the strut (27) are rotatably supported by the boom head (24a), the lower jib (25a) can move relative to the strut (27) in the front-rear direction as the posture of the boom head (24a) changes with respect to the boom body (240).
