Zusammenfassung:	Provided are: a novel stabilization method for inhibiting temporal alternation of a high-purity ethylene carbonate- containing composition; a stabilized high-purity ethylene carbonate-containing composition; and the like. This method for stabilizing a high-purity ethylene carbonate-containing composition is characterized in that the total contained amount of formic acid and a salt thereof or 2-chloroethanol in a high- purity ethylene carbonate-containing composition containing not less than 90 mass% of ethylene carbonate is adjusted to not more than 500 ppm by mass.
