Zusammenfassung:A diamond film (17) is formed on tapered surfaces (13, 14) of a scribing wheel base material (12) via a pair of spacers (21, 22). After the diamond film is formed, in order to remove the diamond film affixed to boundary 5 regions between the tapered surfaces (13, 14) and the side surfaces (15, 16), the boundary regions are cut off by applying laser beams. Thus, a yield of the scribing wheel can be increased and a sliding resistance under usage can be improved avoiding the diamond film from remaining on 10 outer peripheral portions of the side surfaces (15, 16).
