In particular, the present invention is directed to the novel bacteriophage F770/05 comprising the nucleic acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:3, isolated tail tape measure protein or tail protein thereof, compositions comprising the novel bacteriophage and/or isolated proteins and methods for the treatment and prevention of bacterial infection, either alone or in combination with other antibacterial therapies, e.g., antibiotics or other phage therapies.
