Water Filtration Apparatus

A water filtration apparatus (100, Fig. 1) comprises a freestanding frame (102, Fig. 1) adapted to suspend a driving wheel 204 of a bicycle 200, the bicycle being removable from the freestanding frame; at least one filter cartridge 130a, 130b mounted to the freestanding frame; and a pump 120 mounted to the freestanding frame and adapted to move water through the filter cartridge at a predetermined pressure for filtering the water, wherein the pump is further adapted to be driven by the driving wheel of the bicycle on the freestanding frame. Suitably, a roller 122 is coupled to an axle of the pump and is adapted to contact with the driving wheel of the bicycle for driving the pump. The filter cartridge may comprise at least two chambers disposed between an inlet and outlet, wherein a first chamber (506, Fig. 5) comprises a first filter set, and a second chamber (508, Fig. 5) has a second filter. The second filter set can comprise activated carbon filters. A kit of parts for assembling a water filtration apparatus and a method of assembling the water filtration apparatus is also claimed.
