Zusammenfassung:1515868 Hydroxyalkyl(meth)acrylate/alkyl- (meth)acrylate copolymers BAYER AG 30 Oct 1975 [20 Dec 1974] 44915/75 Heading C3P An acrylic resin comprising statistically distributed units of (A) 8-45% of one or more C2-4 hydroxyalkyl(meth)acrylates, (B) 0-72% of styrene, alpha-methylstyrene o or p chlorostyrene, o, m or p-methyl styrene, p-tert butyl styrene and/or methylmethacrylate, (C) 8-81% of a C1-12 alkyl acrylate and/or a C2-12 alkyl methacrylate, (D) 0-45% of a C3-5 alpha,#, unsaturated mono- or di-carboxylic acid, a C2-14 alkyl maleate semiester and/or a reaction product thereof with a monoglycidyl compound and (E) 4-32% of fragments from specific classes of free radical initiators, is prepared by the polymerization of the appropriate monomers in the following proportions; (A) 10-50%, (B) 0- 80%, (C) 10-90%, (D) 0-50%, the polymerization being effected in bulk or solution to 80-98 mol per cent conversion under steady state concentration conditions, with only a Œ2‹ C. fluctuation in the polymerization temperature range of 80-120‹ C. being permitted and with 6-50% (based on monomers A-D) of free radical initiator of t¢ 0À5-100 mins. at 80-100‹ C.
