Zusammenfassung:	Compsns. useful as dispesing agents for hydrocarbons on water surfaces e.g. on the sea, and on coasts and beaches made by reaction of (A) >=1 saccharinic acid or lactone, with (B) >=1 sat. or unsat. fatty acid to give mono-or poly-acrylates, which are converted to polyoxyalkylene derivs. by treatment with (C) an alkylene oxide. The compsns. are non-toxic, bio-degradable and assist bio-degradation of the hydrocarbons. The saccharinic acids are contained in waste products e.g. blck lliquors, from paper mfr., esp. from the Kraft process of alkaline breakdown of wood polyosides, also from breakdown of sugars with lime.
