Zusammenfassung:	1437625 Winch drive MULTI-STROKE HANDBRAKE CONTROLS Ltd 2 July 1974 [10 July 1973] 32797/73 Heading B8B [Also in Division F2] A ratchet device forming a multi-stroke handbrake control comprises a cable drum 1 having one side incorporating a racket wheel 2, an operating lever 8 carrying an application pawl 15, and a holding pawl 13, the pawls, 13, 15 being identical and provided with two ratchet wheel engaging portions 23, 24 so that after use in first positions the pawls may be interchanged to provide fresh ratchet wheel engaging portions for operation in second ratchet wheel engaging positions. The pawls are spring urged into engagement with the ratchet wheel and have surface portions which interengage when the lever 8 is moved fully in the non-drive direction in order to hold the pawls in a disengaged condition with respect to the ratchet wheel. Preferably the pawls are produced by a sintering process.
