Zusammenfassung: | The invention relates to a contact paste for improving the conductivity between an electrode and the skin. The paste is intended to improve the contact and adherence of the electrode to the skin while also provide for a desired electric conductivity between the skin and the electrode. The contact paste comprises conductive or semi-conductive particles in an amount of more than 10 percent up to 60 percent. In an even more preferred embodiment is the concentration of conductive or semi-conductive particles between 15 and 55 percent and in a most preferred embodiment is the concentration of conductive or semi-conductive particles between 25 and 50 percent. The particles may for example be zinc oxide. In addition to the conductive or semiconductive particles comprises the contact paste one or several further components such as solvent for polymeric ingredients, skin hydrating oils, a binding agent, osmotic agents such as hydrophilic polymers, or a combination of all in an amount required to form the paste into the state of a sticky coating composition, applicable on the skin surface. For long term use particularly, it may be desired that the contact paste comprises substances for keeping the skin hydrated, e.g. oils, and avoiding infections, e.g. anti-microbial substances. |
