Zusammenfassung:The method is for the recovery of the application state of an electronic trading system (10), including first (16a) and second (16b) servers after both have failed. The first server fucntions in a primary capacity for receipt of incoming messages and the secondary server in a secondary function during the system operation. A recovery procedure is initiated (20) after the failure of both servers by restarting them. The last message of each server is identified (22), one server is selected (24), and, based on the latest messages, the one server is selected (24) as primary. The message which has the latest requirement number in each server is identified. The selected primary server is ordered to accept incoming messages. A procedure is initiated in the other server to recover messages of the selected server. A reading procedure is initiated in the first and second servers whereby they read a log file covering received messages. The latest sequence number found in the log file is exchanged between the servers. The sequence number of the last message in the log file is compared and the server with the message with the latest sequence number is selected as primary server.
