Zusammenfassung: | Composite systems for damping flexural waves in walls comprise an intermediate layer applied to the wall and subjected to shearing stress and a stretch-resistant covering layer, which in the case of symmetrical composite systems is of the same material and the same thickness as the wall. To accomplish the properties of a symmetrical composite system without weight problems arising, according to the invention the symmetry is achieved by the covering layer consisting of a shear-resistant polymer compound with a thin final layer and being dimensioned such that its flexural resistance is the same as that of the wall. By adding lightweight substances into the polymer compound, the relative density of the composite system is made equal to or less than water. It can be used particularly advantageously for structure-borne sound damping on submarines. |
