Zusammenfassung:Thin sheets are welded together by forming molten drops (6,7) on the edges of the sheet located with a gap between them. The drops grow in size until the adjacent drops touch each other and form a single drop (10,11) with a bridge (5) between the sheets at the root of the joint. Initially the weld current is increased to a value at which the two drops touch and a single drop starts to form. The current is then reduced to 5-95% of the max. value for a time sufficient to allow the fusion of the two drops into one. The current is then increased to a value 11-4 times that of the first max. value for a time sufficient to obtain a burn-in depth of (H).
