Knee support splint

Knee support splint for alleviating the problems of twisting of the shin bone and subluxation of the shin bone in relation to a thigh bone of a wearer, which knee support splint includes conventional first and second pairs of elongate splints 13, 15 with their respective hinges 17 connected at their central ends and with conventional bands and harnesses 19 for adjustably placing and holding the respective pairs of elongate splints and hinges in a desired position that has been reached. The knee support splint is distinguished by the fact that it comprises a front cuff 29 which is connected to a second pair of splints 15 under the hinges and which is designed to firmly engage with the leg at the lower part of the shin bone with a wedge 37 for preventing twisting of the shin bone. In a preferred embodiment, the knee support splint also includes a rear cuff 31 which is connected to the first pair of splints and which is designed to engage with the rear part of the thigh behind the thigh bone in order also to prevent subluxation of the shin bone in relation to the thigh bone. Bands 27 are provided to hold the front and rear cuffs with their respective distal and proximal members in close engagement on the leg.
