Zusammenfassung:Mixt. for the prodn. of cellular plastics contains 31.0-65.5 (wt.)% phenol-HCHO novolak resin (I), 1.2-5.2 (2.2-3.3)% AIBN, 3.7-10.4 (6-7.8)% hexamethylenetetramine (II) and 9.4-64.1 (34.0-40.7)% filler, which consists of volcanic rock (III) with a particle size of 5-300 (20-100) microns, which has been pretreated at 100-500 deg. C. (III) is perlite, obsidian, pumice, volcanic slag or volcanic ash. The mixt. can also contain up to 700% (III) in the form of 3-30 mm granules or up to 480% artificial porous filler (expanded perlite, ceramisite or granulated foamed glass). The mixt. is useful for producing thermal insulating material for use in building, shipbuilding, refrigeration, etc. It has a low mol. wt., high thermal protection properties and satisfactory mechanical strength and resistance to heat and fire. The amt. of resin needed is relatively small.
