Zusammenfassung:Automated production of a multicell lead-acid storage battery is facilitated by providing the battery container (1) with one open side through which packs of the electrodes are passed for insertion in the container cells, the open side being subsequently sealed by welding on a side wall (18). The electrode packs are formed by concertina-folding of an assembly of continuous lengths of positive and negative electrode strips (12 and 13) and an intervening separator strip (4).
