Zusammenfassung:	Fluid waste material is completely atomized and decomposed in a burner wherein the material to be decomposed and an oxidizing agent are maintained at a suitable relative ratio at every point in the burner so that waste transforms into a stable combustion product. Catalysts or other subsidiary materials are not required. The oxidizing agent may be air, air enriched with oxygen, or oxygen, and plasma is produced from the air or from the waste material itself. Water may be introduced into the plasma to promote the formation of hydrogen halogenides if the waste material itself contains halogens. The atomized gases may be deacidified and washed.
