Zusammenfassung:The invention refers to electro metallurgy, in particular a process and device for the melting of mixed flux material in an electric arc furnace. The device for carrying out the procedure is comprised of a transformer (1), that through a current supply device (2) is connected to a frequency converter (6) that is designed to change the power frequency alternating current to an alternating current with a frequency lying between 0.05 and 30Hz. Through the current supply device (2), the frequency converter (6) is connected to electrodes (3) in the device's electric arc furnace (5), in and for supply of the converted current to the electrodes (3). The electrodes (3) are arranged in a vat (4) in the electric arc furnace (5), in which one feeds in the mixed flux material (8) and melts it, at which the melting is followed by oxidation and reduction reactions, by which one obtains a smelt (10) and slag, which are removed from the furnace (4) through a drain opening (11). The device further contains a unit (14) for controlling the frequency converter (6), of which the unit is connected to the current supply device (2) as well as to vents (18, 19) in the converter (6) in and in order to alternately connect and disconnect the vents (18, 19) after an adjustable time interval (δ) between connection and disconnection. The device further contains a unit (12) for regulation of the effect of the electric arc furnace (5), for which the entrances to the unit are connected to the current supply device (2), with the electrodes (3). The unit (12) is additionally designed in order to move the electrodes (3) by way of a mechanism (13) for movement of the same. The invention can be used within metallurgy for iron and non-iron metals, chemical industry as well as for the production of fireproof materials.
