Zusammenfassung:1452818 Light weight concrete INTERNATIONELLA SIPOREX AB 25 June 1974 [28 June 1973] 28102/74 Heading C1H Cellular light weight concrete is made by casting into a mould an aqueous slurry comprising based on the dry weight of the slurry (a) 20-60% of one or more materials rich in silicic acid (i.e. >60 wt. per cent SiO 2 ) (b) 10- 70% of one or more low quality hydraulic binders and (c) 0À1 to 5% of one or more alkali metal hydroxides the slurry also comprising a gas developing agent capable of forming gas under alkaline reaction conditions to cause expansion of the slurry to take place, permitting the cast slurry to expand, and to set and finally steam curing. Component (a) may be sand. Component (b) may be basic blast furnace slag or shale ash. The slurry may also comprise one or more high quality hydraulic binders, e.g. Portland cement. In Example 3 light weight concrete is made from sand granulated basic blast furnace slag, aluminium powder, a regulator (CaSO 4 ¢H 2 O), water and NaOH. The same starting mixture is used in Example 2 except part of the slag is replaced by Portland cement.
