Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a device for the electro-slag refining of metals, in which metal rollers 27 are mounted in two half casings 33,34 in a mechanism 5 for feeding in a consumable electrode 6. One of these half casings 34 is movably mounted in order to make it possible to introduce the electrode 6 into a space between the rollers 27 either from the front or from the side of the device. A roller guide 3 is mounted in a mobile carriage 4, which is moved away when the electrode is being introduced.
