Method and arrangement for making connections in a telecommunication system

A method for making connections in a telecommunication system with a computer-controlled main station and a number of subscriber stations. These can be connected with each other over a number of communication channels which are allocated the respective connections by the main station after the main station has detected the signalling state of the subscriber stations via a shared signal channel. The main station sends a general call signal at the same time to all the subscriber stations which are divided into groups in such a way that all stations that have a connection request send a reply signal with a time delay that is characteristic for the respective group. In cases where more than one station in the same group sends a reply signal, these signals together produce an activation signal in the main station for transmission of a group call signal intended for this group. This group call signal causes the stations in the group to send the reply signal with a time delay specific to the respective stations.
