Method and apparatus for fixing scattered laths between layers in wooden packaging

The invention relates to a method for fixing scattered laths between layers in wooden packaging, wherein the scattered laths are inserted over the top layer of the packaging by means of a distribution unit. The aim of the invention is to fix scattered laths in precisely determined positions in the wooden packaging. This is achieved in that the scattered laths R brought into the correct position on top of the package in the above-mentioned manner are exposed to pressure from above by means of a pressure tool 23, whereby the unit 30 which collects the scattered laths is disposed to rotate or move out of the way of the scattered laths R, after which the pressure tool is arranged so as to convey and guide the laths down into position on the top layer of wood P1, after which the pressure tool is raised into its upper position. The invention also relates to apparatus for carrying out the method. The apparatus is essentially characterised in that the pressure tool 23 is disposed in connection with an upper framework construction 20,21,22,25 which can be moved essentially in a vertical direction by means of power devices 18,19.
