Zusammenfassung: | Method of converting a radioactive material in particle form into a dense block by enclosing the particulate material 6 in a redundant container. This is constructed of several sheet metal capsules 1, 7, 10, previously arranged one in the other and each one closed by a lid 1b, 7c, 10c. In order to provide suitable placement of weld seams 2, 8, 11 for remote-controlled welding, intermediate spaces 9 are formed between the lids of the capsules. These are filled with a powder, advisedly a spherical steel powder, or with appropriately configured pieces of steel, which reduce the deformations of the lid 1b, 7c, 10c and, thus, the risk of ruptures and leaks when the assembled capsule is put under pressure. The risk of leaks forming in all the capsules 1, 7, 10 is very low and so is the risk of contamination of the press equipment. |
